Howard Johnson by Wyndham Red Deer

Great stay! Clean, comfortable room and a huge thanks to the amazing reception (Anjali) for her kindness and help.

So, this place is a bit old. Not worn out old, but almost old wood frame building old. Being a bit old is a good thing though, it means they have the routine down and know what to expect from guests and how they can do their best. The breakfast was pretty good too, and all the staff I interacted with were great! Thanks Howard Johnson by Wyndham for the safe, quiet space to rest my fog night drive tired head and the tasty coffee, cereal and mini cinnamon buns I had in the morning!

Room 205: NEAT & COMFY BED with SUPER NICE STAFF Stayed for 2 nights, I was entertained by a very nice an polite lady staff during check in. She offered rooms to ensure a perfect guest guest experience during my stay.The check-in was so quick as I picked 205, the room was so nice, clean with a very comfy bed. The area was quiet. In the morning, I went down to get my light breakfast as offered by the hotel, I was entertained by another friendly and polite lady. She ensured there was enough foods, coffee, milk and juice for my breakfast. During check out, I guess he was the manager on duty. He was very very friendly and accommodating and it was so fast. I felt like I was in a family of friendly and accommodating people! Thank you so much for your hospitality! I would really come back and even recommend to my friends to stay in this facility.

For what it is its extremely good. Rooms are spacious and clean. Loved the couch and decorative items on the bed at arrival. Coffee machine was nice and clean too. Bed is comfy and rooms are quiet. Service is good. Parking is good too with no big wholes to ruin cars. Prices are very reasonable. Well run business by people who understand the trade.

The upstairs suite we stayed in was pretty standard motel fair. The room was clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable, and there were no noise issues from other tenants. While they did offer a free continental breakfast, we didn't partake of it due to our schedule. The staff were friendly and courteous.

We were pleasantly surprised, by the quality of our $79/night room. It was clean, no bed bugs, beds were very comfortable. Came with a nice, light breakfast. Only thing we noticed, was carpets were slightly sticky. Could’ve been too much carpet shampoo, who knows. So we just wore socks or indoor flip flops, which wasn’t any inconvenience

The reason for the 5 star is the staff. Angeli which i believe is the frontdesk lady that checked us in was really helpful as another family needs a room that is transferring from a different hotel. I tried to get the discounted rate from the company i was working for and angeli said that she will just price match it and continued with the booking for my friend. The rooms are as expected.

For an unsuspecting hotel on the "uncool" side of Gasoline Alley the Howard Johnson provided a surprisingly comfortable stay. The staff at check in/out were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was comfortable, the bed and pillows were nice. It seemed clean enough but there were some dingy corners in the bathroom and some suspicious stains on the couch... Would I have wanted to stay for more than one night? Probably not but for a quick stay it did the job.
